As product managers graduate to product leaders, they are suddenly daunted by several challenges. One product’s growth doesn’t give enough experience to leading a portfolio of diverse products. Even those that managed a few products from seed to maturity struggle as product portfolio leaders. While product management experience is helpful, it is generally insufficient to manage a portfolio of products. The game changes; and so are the rules. This transition warrants a different mindset and strategic intent.
This session will expose the aspiring product leaders to a set of five laws that encapsulate the changing rules of the game.
Duraisamy Rajan Palani
Following the acquisition of his software product start-up, Durai is currently a Vice President of Product Management at Deloitte. Before joining Deloitte, Durai was an entrepreneur, developing pharmaceutical and software products. His 20+ years of career also include working with companies like Infosys, Cognizant, and Johnson & Johnson in India, UK, Belgium, and USA.
Durai holds a Masters in Software Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences and a "Certificate in Leading with Finance" from Harvard Business School online. He is currently pursuing an "Entrepreneurial Edge" at the London School of Business. He has also held certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 Practitioner, and Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA).
